Last Sunday I posted about giving thanks in all things, and I had a week that included some interesting moments, as you can read about below. But I am thankful even for those times because I learn so much from them.
I am doing fairly well in my efforts to be thankful. I have remembered to be thankful each day, although I don’t always remember as soon as I would like to. Sometimes I have “oh, yeah …” moments when I find myself realizing that my thankful attitude in kicking in later than it should be. I think I am going to post a little reminder in my office. I just have to figure out where to put it so that it is noticeable to me, but not necessarily everyone else who enters that space. That will help me remember to stop and say a prayer of thanks when I am frustrated with or aggravated by something happening in the workplace.
Tonight I had to remember to be thankful for my children when they were driving me nuts! But I managed to maintain my sense of humor about it and even thought it got a little tense with the youngest for a few moments, it all passed quickly.
All in all, this giving thanks business is quite effective! Have you accepted the challenge to give thanks in all things each and every day, not just on Sunday when we are reminded because we need to blog about our blessings?
Give it a try and let me know how things go for you!

An interesting and pertinent reminder that we should be actively grateful each day. Thank you.

dammit. ooops.
err… by jolly george it’s a wonderful day today isnt it?
sad puns aside. yes i agree with you totally. we really should set aside at least a few minutes everyday to remind ourselves of our many blessings.
I agree. Blog Your Blessings Sunday is a stepping stone to a greater purpose–being thankful 24/7. Not an easy task, but worth the endeavor and more attainable than many think.
Thanks for a great post.

I’ve always felt that pursuits of the spiritual are about striving rather than attaining. As human beings we aren’t perfect, therefore no one will ever be a truly thankful person. To try and attain that state, while knowing that it’s impossible says something profound about the person. Since this is BYB Sunday, I’ll assume it says something good about them and leave it at that
