Super Simple Spiritual Sunday Edition No. 6
This week I enjoyed some amazing writing by very talented bloggers. I recommend the following eclectic group of articles. When you visit, let the authors know that you were referred by Hopeful Spirit at On the Horizon!
- Kamsin at Fearfully Made is Pondering Church, asking, “How authentic is a faith which only survives when you have other people to conform too? If your faith is only based on other people’s expectations, is that really faith?”
- Alycia at Where Your Treasure Is … always writes from her heart in a very thoughtful manner. But in her Thankful Thursday entry this week, she showed amazing faith and steadfastness. She has a lot of challenges in her life, not the least of which include living in a foreign country where she is pretty much alone with three children and a husband deployed on a military exercise. But when I drop by her blog, I find that she inspires and lifts me up! She is nothing less than amazing. Drop by, read a couple of her articles and you will see what I mean.
- It’s back to school time and poor Karen at Write from Karen had a really rough night leading up to her kids’ first day back, as she describes in In Survival Mode.
- Have You Lost Faith? is the question posed at faithdoubt.
- Writing in the L.A. Times, William Lobdell explains how Religion beat became a test of faith. Long, but definitely worth reading.
- The Lost Genre Guild offers an interesting article about how to deal with different viewpoints among Christians. If you have ever been taken to task by another Christian for letting your child read Harry Potter books or enjoying “Star Wars” movies yourself, you’ll want to take a look at Terri’s thoughtful approach to Romans 14 and Responding to Critics.
- Jim Comstock gave his daughter A Special Gift as she went off to college. The story will leave a lump in your throat.
- Dr. Platypus explained Why I Don’t Pray to Saints.
- Gina focused on the women in her life who have served as role models in her Thankful Thursday article. What a great idea!
- Finally, Weekend Fisher explained Security, Aspostasy and Knowing Christ.
Have a wonderful week!
