• Kam­sin at Fear­fully Made is Pon­der­ing Church, ask­ing, “How authen­tic is a faith which only sur­vives when you have other peo­ple to con­form too? If your faith is only based on other people’s expec­ta­tions, is that really faith?”
• Aly­cia at Where Your Trea­sure Is … always writes from her heart in a very thought­ful man­ner. But in her Thank­ful Thurs­day entry this week, she showed amaz­ing faith and stead­fast­ness. She has a lot of chal­lenges in her life, not the least of which include liv­ing in a for­eign coun­try where she is pretty much alone with three chil­dren and a hus­band deployed on a mil­i­tary exer­cise. But when I drop by her blog, I find that she inspires and lifts me up! She is noth­ing less than amaz­ing. Drop by, read a cou­ple of her arti­cles and you will see what I mean.
• It’s back to school time and poor Karen at Write from Karen had a really rough night lead­ing up to her kids’ first day back, as she describes in In Sur­vival Mode.
• Have You Lost Faith? is the ques­tion posed at faithdoubt.
• Writ­ing in the L.A. Times, William Lob­dell explains how Reli­gion beat became a test of faith. Long, but def­i­nitely worth reading.
• The Lost Genre Guild offers an inter­est­ing arti­cle about how to deal with dif­fer­ent view­points among Chris­tians. If you have ever been taken to task by another Chris­t­ian for let­ting your child read Harry Pot­ter books or enjoy­ing “Star Wars” movies your­self, you’ll want to take a look at Terri’s thought­ful approach to Romans 14 and Respond­ing to Crit­ics.
• Jim Com­stock gave his daugh­ter A Spe­cial Gift as she went off to col­lege. The story will leave a lump in your throat.
• Dr. Platy­pus explained Why I Don’t Pray to Saints.
• Gina focused on the women in her life who have served as role mod­els in her Thank­ful Thurs­day arti­cle. What a great idea!
• Finally, Week­end Fisher explained Secu­rity, Aspostasy and Know­ing Christ.
