Super Simple Spiritual Sunday Edition No. 8
It has been a few weeks since I’ve had time to publish this weekly round-up of great articles! After Labor Day, my life, like so many other folks’, becomes extremely busy, leaving me longing for the long days and slower pace of summer. From now until the New Year, the pace is hectic, sometimes frenetic, with blogging relegated to the “when I can” category. I know that many of you can relate.
- So it is fitting that the first article I recommend to you this week is “A Day of Rest” from Becca of Becca’s Byline. Becca discusses just what I described — a Sunday punctuated by activities — that leaves her wondering what happened to the day of rejuvenation most of us knew as a child.
- My friend Tami at The Next Step once again wrote eloquently, beautifully, and from her soul in “Taking Our Breath Away.” You know a writer is truly talented when they can transcend your original disagreement with their central thesis, leaving you in breathless awe at the sheer power of their words.
- Jeff provides some much-needed perspective with “Halloween: The Christan’s Second Most Important Holiday.”
- Undecided about whether to allow your children to participate in Halloween activities? This article might help: “Christian Halloween: All Hocus Pocus?”
- Etta at J Boys Mommy updated her discussion of why we blog in “Blogging: What is Your Motivation?” It is worth a read and may inspire you to do a little soul-searching regarding your own reasons.
- In a similar vein, Sarah questioned whether blogging could become an idol in “Those Sneaky Idols.”
- Sandy Carlson is the kind of teacher I want in charge of my kids’ education. Check out “Blog Your Blessings: Harold the Pimp” to see why.
Have a wonderful week!

Hopeful Spirit,
Thanks for the mention! I’m honored yet again. Your blog is one of the very good reasons for blogging. How cyberspace becomes a site of worship can be seen here. There are many good folks who transform this technology into a work of spiritual art, of marvelous devotion. Thanks for doing that. More important, thanks for being that kind of person. God bless.
