As one who has tried for many years to keep everyone happy, and failed miserably as we all will when we attempt such a foolish thing (!), I certainly recognize many of your observations. All of this does make for difficulties, especially during the holidays, but your thoughts help put it all into perspective. If we can look at all of these struggles as the way in which God builds us up to become all that He would have us to be, it makes it so much easier to deal with.
