This particular post made me think over the whole issue again... Personally to me, prayer was, and I guess still is something that has got embedded into our system, more like a daily habit. We often don't realize that prayer deals with asking God for something, in a submissive way. But even then, developing this habit is not a bad thing at all. One at least stays connected to The Almighty subconsciously. Great post!

One of the areas in which my thoughts do not often enough take conscious form is prayer for my enemies. (Matthew 5:44) I do not wish harm to anyone, but I do not often enough enunciate deliberate petitions for those persons for whom I do not feel much affection or empathy absent concerted effort. “If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else?” (Matthew 5:45-47) I resemble a “corrupt tax collector” more often than I care to admit. I am indeed a work in progress, but am buoyed by the knowledge that each day is a new opportunity to succeed where I failed yesterday.

Prayer for me is talking to God, telling Him our desires, our frustrations and our whereabouts. And it is nice to know that there are people like you who devote time to pray for the entire country.

I love that Ps. 139--it is so reassuring to know God knows us so well and cares about us. There is so much to pray about, thanks for pointing out some of these things.

Very insightful post. I'm always happy when I come across blogs like yours. Prayer is so important, yet it often gets overlooked and disregarded. Thank you.

Hello Hopeful Spirit.
This is the kind of words that gives food for thought(s), I agree with you in everything you wrote, I too try not to judge others merely because I don't agree with their personal believe and conviction.
We are all individuals and should be treated as such.

Very nice article, I will follow your entries as often as possible.
