The Simple Woman’s Daybook: May 11, 2009

by Hopeful Spirit on Monday, May 11, 2009

Outside my window . . . the sun is just coming up and light is beginning to peek in around the draperies.

I am thinking . . . about how tired I feel because I feel asleep late and work up early.  At this rate, it might be a long day.

I am thankful for . . . this cool, clear morning and the chance for some solace before the busy week begins.

From the kitchen . . . The kitchen is still dark and silent.  I have not yet made the coffee.

I am wearing . . . a comfortable old t-shirt.

I am reading . . . the online edition of the local newspaper.

I am hoping . . . that the week’s weather forecast is accurate because it calls for sunny days with temperatures in the mid-80’s. In other words, perfect spring weather should be the norm for at least the next several days.

I am creating . . . a re-envisioned living room which is why I am sitting in this room using my laptop. I am deciding whether or not I am completely satisfied with the changes I have made thus far.

I am praying . . . that a good friend whose husband died recently is experiencing healing and that her memories of a happy married life will allow her grief to gradually yield to acceptance, peacefulness, and tranquility as she contemplates what her life will be like from this point forward.

Around the house . . . all is quiet.

One of my favorite things . . . is awakening on the day after a special event, recalling what transpired, and reliving the happiest moments. In this case, I am thinking about how special and loved I felt yesterday as we celebrated Mother’s Day.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . include dinner with the friend I mentioned above.

Here is a picture thought and favorite quote for you to ponder during the coming week:

Make use of your imagination: Be still and imagine to yourself that you saw the heavens open and the glorious choirs of cherumbims and seraphims about the throne of God. Imagine that you hear the music of those angelic voices . . . Think upon this till your imagination has carried you above the clouds, till it has placed you amongst those heavenly beings, and made you long to be a part in their eternal music.

Wow who would’ve thought that people would have so different answers to so simple questions. Just got back from reading some of the others and there’s literaly no duplicate answers.

oh mother’s day with mom and the family was a blast, we went to church in the morning, went out to eat lunch at a local restaurant where we used to go to and watched a movie in the afternoon…

I always like discussing a party or event afterwards better than the event itsself. Though I guess we should all try and live in the moment

Very inspirational and has made me think of all the little things I do everyday that I usually ignore and don’t even take the time to think about – its important to appreciate everything we do and live in the present moment – thankyou for waking me up to this again!
