The Simple Woman’s Daybook: July 6, 2009

by Hopeful Spirit on Monday, July 6, 2009

Outside my window … the sun is shining, but it is only about 59 degrees and the forecast high temperature for today is only 82 degrees, a distinct difference from the 108 degrees we endured just one week ago.

I am thinking … about the discussion taking place on television at this moment about the resignation of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Speculation about her reasons continues. I am sure that we will hear “the rest of the story” in a few days. For my part, I just hope that the commentators who are saying that she committed political suicide by resigning are accurate. I would be delighted never to hear anything about her ever again.

I am thankful for … the fact that I live in America where I can express my opinions freely, as can my fellow citizens. And we can agree to disagree without being disagreeable. I am aware that many believers are big fans of Palin and respect their various viewpoints, but I do not share their enthusiasm.

From the kitchen … I hear the icemaker working.

I am wearing … shorts and a t-shirt.

I am reading … blogs and newspapers online.

I am hoping … that the weather forecast is accurate and the cool weather will truly last all week. It is so enjoyable because I love being outside in the sun sans the intense heat.

I am creating … a huge pile of paper that must be shredded and discarded. I am in the process of cleaning off my desk and purging unneeded documents from my file cabinet.

I am praying … for a speedy resolution at California’s Capitol because the citizens of this state deserve better leadership than has been demonstrated over the past few years and has now led to a full-blown economic crisis impacting each and every resident.

Around the house … it is very quiet. I am the only one awake.

One of my favorite things … is going to the local coffee shop early in the morning and enjoying a cup or two while reading the local newspaper, chatting with the regular morning customers and staff, and watching the hustle and bustle of the city begin in earnest. I’m heading there now. Want to join me?

A few plans for the rest of the week … include continuing to purge, sort and organize. From my desk and file cabinet, I plan to move on to closets. I, for one, have a lot of clothing that I never wear and intend to donate it to a worthy charity.

Here is a prayer for the coming week:

May God, who puts all things together,
makes all things whole,
Who made a lasting mark through the sacrifice of Jesus,
the sacrifice of blood that sealed the eternal covenant,
Who led Jesus, our Great Shepherd,
up and alive from the dead,
Now put you together, provide you
with everything you need to please him,
Make us into what gives him most pleasure,
by means of the sacrifice of Jesus, the Messiah.
All glory to Jesus forever and always!
Oh, yes, yes, yes.

Palin is in the news for all of the wrong reasons lately. I think there are many people who share your feelings.

Hackers are alive and well it seems…. someone hacked my hotmail account. :-( I’m not in England, I don’t need anyone to send me money … well… nah..lol.

Why do people do such things? Thanks for checking on me. I’ve tried to email everyone back to let them know about the hacker and as soon as I let the rest know, I’ll be deleting that account. I hate that…I’ve had it since 2000 :-(

Thanks again for checking :-)
Hugs,
Judy

Glad to hear it. When I got that email, I knew immediately that something was very wrong. Relieved that you’re o.k.

I just happened to sign on to Twitter today and saw that my page there had also been hacked. Must be the day for it. Fortunately, I was able to change my password and recover my page quickly.

lol, shezzzzz is in front page now a days, but i don’t thing any firm reason behind her resignation and then running away from Governorship, God knows what, many political reasons hidden behind it, but some say, Obama did asked her to resign, some say she resigned because she was pregnant.

huh…

God is great and he has planned everything for us and i am sure that he is not partial in any sense. God takes test of each individual in every sense. This post is simply awesome and according to me planning is absolutely important and very much needed in life to gain success.

It was very sad to know that the governor of Alaska was resigning, i hope she continues to do her and and decides against it. Your post is quite simple and interesting.
