Outside my window . . . the sun is shining brightly which is a delightful change from the heavy rains we received earlier in the week. I am looking at the beautiful flowers that are blooming in my yard, including red roses. They are stunning.
I am thinking . . . about what a lovely day it is. The lawns, leaves on the trees, and hillsides are a vibrant green from all of the recent rain. I am seeing the world in technicolor!
I am thankful for . . . a day off from work which I am using to complete household chores like laundry and shopping for groceries.
I am wearing . . . shorts and a big, baggy, comfortable sweatshirt. I have several doors and windows open, even though it is only about 60 degrees outside. The weather is too lovely, the air too cool and refreshing to miss this opportunity to get some fresh air into the house. It has been closed up with the furnace churning away for several months now.
I am remembering . . . how much, as a child, I loved these days when we were poised on the precipice of spring. I vividly recall the joy of being able to remain outside playing ball, riding bikes, and generally having fun with my neighborhood pals as the weather warmed and the days gradually grew longer.
I am going . . . to remain at home for the remainder of the day, savoring this beautiful, peaceful, yet productive day.
I am currently reading . . . a wide variety of blogs.
I am hoping . . . that this gorgeous weather holds through the weekend. Let it rain again when it’s time to return to work!
On my mind . . . are the various tasks that I want to complete today so that I can sleep well tonight with a solid sense of accomplish.
Noticing that . . . the trees across the street from my house are loaded with lovely pink blossoms, a few of which gently float through the air each time a car passes by.
Pondering these words . . . “Carve quiet spaces in your life and in the silence you will hear the angels.” (Kathryn Schein)
From the kitchen . . . no smells are emanating yet. The dishes are clean and still in the dishwasher. The counters and stovetop are spotless. I am going to cook dinner later, so all is ready.
Around the house . . . every room is flooded with light and fresh air. It is delightful.
One of my favorite things . . . is spending a day off just as I am this one.
